TOWN OF HURON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to Section 20 of the Municipal Horne Rule Law, a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Huron on March 20, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the Huron Town Hall, 10880 Lummisville Road, in the Town of Huron, Wayne County, New York, to consider the adoption of Local Law No. 3 of 2017 of the Town of Huron,  a local law to amend the Town of Huron Zoning Law, Local Law No. 1 of 1973, as amended, reenacted and restated by Local Law No. 1 of 2000, as amended, to add or modify provisions related to animal or fowl sheltering, storage structures, scientific stations, clubs, telecommunication facilities and farm operations, and to make technical corrections.

 

All persons interested shall be given an opportunity to be heard.  Local Law No.  3 of 2017 is available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Town Clerk's office and on the Town of Huron website at townofhuron.org.

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT


     TAKE NOTICE, that I, the undersigned Town Tax Collector, Town of Huron, County of Wayne and State of New York have duly received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes for the fiscal year.  I will receive the payment of taxes at Huron Town Hall, 10880 Lummisville Road, Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. during the months of January, February and March.

     TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, taxes may be paid on or before February 6, 2017 without charge of interest..  On such taxes remaining unpaid after February 6, 2017 one percent will be added on February 7, 2017 and an additional one percent on March 7, 2017.

     TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF LAW, THE TAX ROLL of the Town of Huron will be returned to the County Treasurer on the 1st day of April 2017.

     NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Huron, for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2017 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk, available for inspection by any interested persons during regular business hours.

   

     FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Huron will meet and review said Preliminary Budget and hold a public hearing thereon at the Town of Huron Town Hall, 10880 Lummisville Road, Wolcott, New York at 5:15 p.m. on November 1, 2016 and at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against any item or items therein contained.  Any other business to come before the Board will be heard.

TOWN OF HURON NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY

FOR PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

 

     PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to General Municipal Law  §6-c and  Town  Law §220, on September 26, 2016, the Town Board of the Town of Huron (the "Town") adopted   a Resolution approving the expenditure of $160,000 from the Town Building  Improvement Capital Reserve Fund, and $107,000 from surplus funds, to undertake a project  at the Huron  Town Hall, including new mechanical systems, building insulation and other repairs and improvements. That Resolution was adopted subject to a permissive referendum, so that on or before October 26, 2016, a petition signed, and acknowledged or proved, or authenticated by electors of the Town qualified to vote upon a proposition to raise and expend money, in number equal to at least five per centum of the total vote cast for governor in the Town  in 2014, but  which shall not be less than 25, protesting against the Resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the qualified electors of the Town for their approval or  disapproval.

TOWN OF HURON

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

  

     PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Huron on October 17, 2016 at 7:15 p.m. at the Huron Town Hall, 10880 Lummisville Road, in the Town of Huron, Wayne County, New York to consider a contract for ambulence services with the Lakeshore Volunteer Ambulence in Fire Protection District No. 1 of the Town of Huron.  Under the terms of the contract, the Lakeshore Volunteer Ambulence will provide services within the District for the year 2017, and will be paid $11,245.00.

     PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Huron on October 4, 2016 at 5:35 p.m. at the Huron Town Hall, 10880 Lummisville Road in the Town of Huron, Wayne County, New York, to consider a contract for fire protection with the Village of Wolcott for Fire Protection District No. 1 of the Town of Huron.  Under the terms of contract, the Village of Wolcott Fire Department will respond to all calls within the District for the year 2017, and will be paid $28,200.00.

Wayne County Public Health has scheduled fall flu clinics for adults and children ages 2 years old and over.  Please note age, location and time changes. If you can receive flu vaccine at your doctor’s office, you should do so.  CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends that the following priority groups receive vaccine:

  

Influenza Vaccination is recommended for the following target groups:

  • Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine with or without chronic medical conditions.
  • All household contacts and caregivers of persons at high risk for severe complications from flu.
  • Pregnant women.
  • All Health care workers.
  • All Household contacts and caregivers of children 0-59 months of age.
  • Anyone else who wants to be protected from the flu.

PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

  

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to Town Law §198(12), on February 2, 2016, the Town Board of the Town of Huron (the "Town") adopted a Resolution approving two agreements ("Agreements") regarding Sewer District No. 1 (the "District") of the Town, also known as the Port Bay Sewer District, including the Facilities Agreement Regarding Port Bay Sanitary Sewer Improvements ("Facilities Agreement") with the Town of Wolcott and the Wayne County Water and Sewer Authority ("Authority"), which provides for the construction and operation of the sewer improvements in the District, and the Port Bay Sewer Service Agreement with the Authority, which provides for the Authority to operate and maintain wastewater collection in the District. That Resolution was adopted, and the Agreements were approved, subject to permissive referendum, so that on or before on or before March 3, 2016, a petition signed, and acknowledged or proved, or authenticated by the owners of taxable real property situate in the District, as shown upon the latest completed assessment-roll of the Town, in number equal to at least five per cent of the total number of such owners, or by one hundred of such owners, whichever is the lesser, may be submitted to the Huron Town Clerk protesting against this Resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the owners of taxable real property in the District for their approval or disapproval.
