TOWN OF HURON
Local Law No. 1
of the Year 2004
A Local Law to supercede state law to eliminate the requirement that the Building Inspector be an elector of the Town.
Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Huron as follows:
1. This law is enacted pursuant to the power of supersession granted to the Town of Huron by Municipal Home Rule Law '10.
2. This law supercedes New York State Town Law '23(1) and Public Officers Law '3(1), to the extent they require that the Building Inspector of the Town of Huron be a resident and elector of the Town of Huron.
3. The Building Inspector need not be a resident or elector of the Town of Huron, provided that she or he resides in Wayne County in the State of New York.
4. If any provision of this law is determined to be unconstitutional or invalid, the validity and enforceability of the remainder shall not be affected.
5. This local law shall take effect upon filing with the Secretary of State.
