Coastal Erosion Hazard Area Law

The amendments to the Coastal Erosion Hazard Area Law were adopted by the Huron Town Board during its regular session 20 October 2008, with one modification:

The amendment to paragraph C of section 2.5 was eliminated - as explained by the Town's Attorney, Alan Knauf, based on an informal review, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will not approve any development in nearshore areas.  "Nearshore areas" is defined in simple terms as the area from the mean low level lakeward or out into the water.
